Beginnings

BEGINNINGS

“There can be no growth if we do not remain open and vulnerable to what is new and different”

John O’Donohue

New beginnings start with a stirring, a deep sense of something arising from our depths, an awareness rising from the fog that something is not working in our lives. Like roots that grow in the dark beneath the surface, so new beginnings can stir in our time of darkness and despair, gently edging us towards growth. Can we still the mind enough to notice these stirrings within us. As new shoots in spring, these stirrings need nurturing, time and space to manifest and slowly grow. Can we slow the pace of our lives long enough to listen to our deep yearning for change?

What are we avoiding by flooding our lives with busyness? Rushing from one thing to another, never stopping to listen to our deeper yearnings, to what our body and soul is trying to communicate to us. We feel disconnected from ourselves and from others. Paralysed by fear, a need to please others, not feeling good enough or worthy enough. Forgetting that we are good enough just as we are. That maybe this stirring is leading us to that which will give our life meaning and a deep feeling of fulfilment and freedom.

John O’Donohue in referring to Goethe states that “once the commitment is made, destiny conspires with us to support and realise it.” As you take the first steps towards your dreams notice the doors that open to you and take action. I invite you to bravely move towards your dream, towards growth, fulfilment and connection, towards that which gives your life meaning and a spring in your step. It all begins with the first step.
